“Discovering Your Life’s Purpose”
Knowing your soul’s purpose is the most important key to living a happy life. Without knowing your soul’s life purpose there is no meaning to one’s life. Without meaning in your life, there can be no lasting happiness. It is knowing, and then living your soul’s life purpose that gives your life meaning, and through meaning, happiness.
A person who does not know what their soul’s life purpose is may drift aimlessly through life—drifting from one job to another or from one lifestyle to another. Quite likely, most of the vices and escapisms that people pursue arise from an inability to know what their soul’s life purpose is. Lacking such knowledge, a person may seek to escape a great void of emptiness within themselves by becoming addicted to alcohol, drugs, gambling, or neurotic relationships. Life without meaning and purpose is life without a sense of hope, inspiration, or happiness.
Every soul has a soul’s life purpose for the life they are leading, whether they are consciously aware of it or not. The fortunate souls who find what their soul’s purpose is, and then live it, generally have something in common. And what they have in common is God.
In other words, the majority of souls who have discovered their soul’s purpose for this lifetime have turned their lives over to God. They have done this by praying that God’s Will, not their own, be lived in their lives. They have taken time to tune into the higher consciousness within themselves where the spiritual reason or purpose for their present earthly reincarnation is known. They have been intuitively directed in becoming aware of what their soul’s life purpose truly is.
Christ once warned of “praying amiss.” If you don’t know what your soul’s life purpose is, it can be very easy to pray amiss, not knowing what it is you should really be praying for. On the other hand, if you do know what your soul’s life purpose is, your prayers will be answered, for they are in tune with God’s Will for your life.
To know your soul’s life purpose, begin to think that you have a divine destiny. Recognize that you are unique, and that you are as individual in your soul as you are in your physical thumbprint. Be aware that the human mind always has the choice to go in either one of two ways—personal or Universal. Personal is to see life with limited vision, as life is filtered through and interpreted by one’s personal choices. Universal is to set aside or release living in personal ego consciousness, and give it up in favor of praying and meditating to surrender oneself to God.
A major aspect of how well a person does in life is in the why and how one is motivated. There can be no more powerful motivation in life than to be motivated by your soul’s life purpose, in accord and attunement with God’s Will for you in this lifetime. Because of this motivation, there is an enthusiasm for everything you do because you are happy doing it. You feel a sense of fulfillment and deep down satisfaction in your own soul as you actually live out your soul’s life purpose. You are doing and living that for which God gave you birth. Every day is a welcomed opportunity to do what you were meant to do in this life, and it feels wonderful.
This does not mean that a person who is living their soul’s life purpose will not have problems. Problems create the need for change. If you are living your soul’s life purpose, the changes that take place as a result of problems will bring you even more fulfillment and meaning, and thus more inward happiness with yourself.
As always, the most important thing in any major area of your life is meditation. When meditation is for the purpose of coming into contact with God, the meditation draws you into that field of Divine Mind or God’s Mind where your soul’s life purpose is known. The closer you attune your conscious mind’s awareness to God, the closer you are to an awareness of your soul’s life purpose.
Once you are aware and attuned through meditation to your soul’s life purpose, you begin to sense and realize that your life is on what I call “spiritual automatic.” It is as if God, in unseen ways, is guiding the course of events of your life. It is as if God is the Director on a Universal stage, and you are the person playing out a part in the cosmic drama of life. Almost on a daily basis, there is a sensing that people and conditions that are part of your life’s experience are as a result of God guiding and unfolding your life.
Every time you meditate on God’s presence, you are coming into direct contact with the greatest Creative Intelligence in the Universe. The same Creative Consciousness that created all things flows through your mind, just as your mind flows through It. This is Universal Creative Consciousness.
If you are aware of your soul’s life purpose, creative ideas are invoked and offered by God’s Universal Mind to use in the physical materialization of your soul’s purpose. It is almost a magical process in which creative ideas suddenly appear in your mind’s awareness without any logical analysis and detailed intellectual deduction.
As you engage in your daily activities, always be open and sensitive to receiving thoughts, feelings, and impressions from God. Realize that God is constantly attempting to guide you in the achievement of your soul’s life purpose.
