“Universal Synthesis in Daily Living”

A definition and explanation of universal synthesis can be found in Christ’s words, “The Father and I are One.” In this statement, he proclaimed that the presence of the Universe, both physical and spiritual, was One with his psyche or soul, and he with it.

Yet, the message he most wished to convey to the world was found in his words, “All of you are equal unto me, and even greater things than I you shall do.” With these words, Christ elevated all who would listen at that time, and all who would come in the centuries that followed, to a divine possibility.

That divine possibility is that anyone could do as he did; raise themselves to the level of consciousness he had achieved, and perhaps even do greater things in the future.

Jesus lived his life as the Christ, and what made Jesus the Christ was that he lived in a state of universal synthesis with God every day of his life.

The great legacy that was left to subsequent generations to inherit was the realization that universal synthesis was open to all who would truly seek it. “Seek and you shall find,” “Knock and it shall be opened unto you,” are not vague promises or spiritual abstracts lacking physical resolve. Rather, they are a proclamation of Spirit that is like an ageless echo that has made its way through the centuries; from Jesus’ lips to the inner spiritual ears of anyone who would seek to surmise and comprehend the ways of the Spirit.

The only lacking is not within humans themselves in regard to achieving a universal synthesis in their daily living. Rather, it is either that the possibility is not known, or if it is known, it is rejected. Rejection usually comes as a result of the human part of the mind convincing itself that something will be lost as a result of becoming too close to God; generally the loss of wants, needs, and desires of what the personality factor of their minds emphasizes as being important to them.

Human evolvement as a whole, as it exists today on the planet earth and its physical plane of existence, is still in an embryonic state of developing insight into itself. A falsely-constructed ego, born of the limitations of perspectives drawn only through one’s physical environment, with its self-imposed purely intellectual comprehension, sets limitations on what the human spirit may know and how it should live its daily life. Such limitations stifle the human spirit, suffocating it and its emergence into the conscious mind, except as a feared adversary. This fear arises from the possibility of having to give up something of one’s limited self or fragmented lifestyle.

Life is thus lived in bits and pieces, rather than as a Whole. What might have been is traded off for far less, and life becomes an almost endless chain of compromises in which any ideals that may ever have been entertained become blurred memories in one’s mind, and an even greater void within one’s heart. The psychic pain arising from such emptiness that fills the souls of most people today need not be.

In place of psychic pain can be an alternative joy, or the divine possibility of living one’s life as Jesus did, by giving himself to the Christ-part of his mind, or that point of human consciousness where human and divine merge as One and form a synthesis of soul and Spirit.

Such a reality can be the possession of all human beings, and in time the Eternal will appear in all. The only questions before each soul are, in which lifetime and when in that lifetime. Once these questions are answered, all else in a person’s life pales, becomes mute, and academic, when compared to the synthesized emergence of the Universal Spirit to the forefront of one’s mind.

Possibilities and opportunities never before glimpsed become clear on the horizon of one’s consciousness so that what can be known, lived, experienced, and above all, loved in one’s life, become as reality in one’s mind. They then await only physical activity under the direction of universal guidance to bring them into material fruition.

Is this idealistic or impractical in a contemporary world? Hardly, since it is the world that has yet to evolve to the ideal. Scientific technology must, in the final analysis, seek out whatever is the absolute or final universal truth to be known, discovered and experienced. This absolute truth to which intellect must evolve itself when the stark coldness of technology without Spirit is seen for its own lack, is the living ideal which warms the human heart with love in the presence of the universal.

Only love, true love, survives the inevitable changes brought by time on the physical landscapes of one’s life. All turns to dust except for that light of universal Spirit which once held all the particles of dust cohesively together.

When a person chooses to live their daily life in a universal synthesis, their life therefore becomes one of enormous inner depth and spiritual sensitivity, if they have truly not chosen this path of Spirit, but rather have become the path itself – one with God, who is the Way.

This does not mean that suddenly their entire lives and the remainder of their days are transformed into a rose-garden of purely fragrant experiences. On the surface, because more is possible, there are more potentialities that subsequently also exist for temporary failures, obstacles, and the like. However, in time, these too are recognized for what they are; signposts on the path to alter one’s direction to flow more perfectly with the path, which is the will of the universal individualized within oneself.

Instead of seeking mystical experience, one’s life is the expressed physical vibration of the mystical presence of the universal. This does not suggest that one is completely perfect within oneself as life is lived daily. Conflicts between illusions and realities may still persist, and in some cases the conflict may increase, since one is more able to attract the passing illusions of physical life in order to provide greater contrast with spiritual realities containing permanent value. In this inner struggle, the soul may stumble and fall and yet, through the Grace of the remarkable, ever-renewing Spirit of the universal, the soul will rise once again to move in universal synthesis.

Moving through one’s daily life in universal synthesis is not, then, without its difficulties, but there is a significant difference compared to living one’s daily life without such synthesis. Universal synthesis is a living oneness within oneself.
