Secret Teachings of Christ, Part 2: When it comes to prayer, the outward teaching—as commonly practiced—seems to be to petition God for what you think you want. But the inner—or secret—teaching is not that at all. The secret teaching is contained in the scripture, “When you pray, enter into your closet, shut the door, and pray to your Father which is in secret; and your Father, which sees in secret, shall reward you.” In other words, go within, meditate, and establish communion and union with the Presence of God within you. You do not need to seek things through prayer. God already knows what you need better than you do. And when the time is right, and you are ready for it, God will fulfill that need.
