Rev. Dr. Kendra Vaughan Hovey, D. Min.
Rev. Dr. Kendra Vaughan Hovey is the founding Elder High Priestess of the First Church of Wicca in Duxbury, MA, and has served the Pagan community for over twenty years as a High Priestess. She was featured on TLC’s My Unique Family: The Witches Next Door, and is the author of Handfasting: A Pagan Guide to Commitment Rituals. Kendra was an acquisitions editor, ghostwriter, and copyeditor for the anthology Out of the Broom Closet, and was a featured contributor in The Afterlife Survey. She has written and copyedited both fiction and nonfiction spiritual writings.
Kendra first became interested in metaphysics when she discovered that the art of Witchcraft involved directing the intention of one’s mind to manifest desires through spell casting. This led her on a search for Truth and a deeper understanding of the metaphysical trinity of idea, thought, and manifestation. It was her study and personal implementation of negative release statements, positive affirmations, and visualizations in her daily life that established the core principles of metaphysics as the foundation of the First Church of Wicca.
Kendra holds a DMin. from the University of Metaphysics and a BS in Hospitality Management from Johnson & Wales University. She is a member of the American Metaphysical Doctors Association and is ordained by both the International Metaphysical Ministry and the First Church of Wicca.
