Rev. Whitney Henson, B.Msc.
Whitney began her spiritual journey in the rooms of 12 Step Recovery with the discovery of a God of her own understanding. She began going to Alcoholic Anonymous meetings in her twenties, and there she began working with a sponsor who was an avid student of both the Bible and A Course of Miracles. It was through that connection that Whitney began to cultivate a partnership with her own Higher Power.
She attended Unity Church of Louisville for many years, where she became interested in healing as well as fascinated by the power of prayer. That passion for a deeper connection and purpose led her through Native American practice and rituals (through sweat lodges and healing circles), Buddhist practices (meditation and chanting), and Spiritual Prayer (the Metaphysical practice of returning the consciousness to perfection through the treating of the mind and energetic mentality).
In 2006 she began to practice Christian Science and study the works of Joel Goldsmith and Ernest Holmes. She had not previously understood that the power and presence of God was the very life and space that she occupied, or that in that conscious realization that there were not two – God and Whitney – but rather Whitney as the expression and life of the one God, to and through her. This revelation changed her life and practice! She had felt a “calling” on her life since her twenties that she adamantly denied because she could not see herself representing the man-made ideas of blame, shame, and judgment that she had encountered through religion and church. But she came to a place in her spiritual practice in which she could no longer resist her passion for God, and she surrendered herself to sharing with others the unconditional love and acceptance that she had come to know in her own life and practice.
Whitney completed her Bachelor of Metaphysical Science, B.Msc., with the University of Metaphysics in 2015, and is currently working on her Master’s degree, followed by her Doctoral of Philosophy, D.Phil. She is also an ordained metaphysical minister, having received her ordination and practitioner diploma from the International Metaphysical Ministry University Seminary.
