“Free Will or Predestiny”

Is your life one of free will or is it one of predestiny? Philosophers, theologians, and wise men, throughout all of time, have pondered this age-old question. If it were just fascinating metaphysical speculation, that would be one thing. But this question is far more than speculative musing. It is a critical issue concerning your life and the lives of everyone else. How you live your life can very definitely be influenced by whether you accept that you have been given free will by a creator, or God, or that God has you living a predestined life.

Most schools of theology will agree that humankind is given free will. Yet, at the same time, they will speak of messiahs, prophets and the like, who incarnated on this earth with definite predestined missions for humanity. Is it, then, that some have a predestiny, while others do not? Or is it that all people, even though they are not messiahs or prophets are also subject to living a life that is predestined?

“The Metaphysical State of Mind that Produces Successful Living”

Since the turn of the century, particularly in the United States and other Western countries, success metaphysics has appeared in abundance. Over the decades, the basic teachings have evolved; yet the truths upon which they stand remain relatively intact.

More recently, however, the public’s attention has been drawn toward metaphysics under various labels and packaging, through books, tapes, television, radio, magazines, and social media. Mass media communications has played a major role, along with a growth in the availability of lectures, courses, seminars, individual counseling, and tutoring.

Through it all, millions in the United States alone have been introduced to principles and practices that are part of success metaphysics. That term, as it is being used here, can apply in small or large part to teachings that might come under the label of New Thought, or a positive-thinking approach to life based on spiritual reality.

“Who’s Really Who? Angels, Gods, Higher Beings—A Mystical Perspective”

Most who have traveled the path of metaphysical, and more specifically, mystical spirituality, agree there is but one Ultimate Life, Universal Consciousness, Spirit, or God throughout the Universe, existing on and as multiple dimensions of expression. Between human consciousness as it currently exists in the majority of people, and the Ultimate Supreme Consciousness, or God, there exists a wide divide that eventually every soul must experience when awakening to the Ultimate Reality or God.

Throughout recorded history, people have described visions of higher beings. They have been described as angelic, god-like or goddess-like, Christ-like, Buddha-like, Krishna-like, and so on. When such experiences occur, the recipient feels inspired. Nothing needs to be spoken in the traditional way of human communication; instead, there is an exchange of energy as the communication. The person who has had such a vision or visions feels a greater certainty that there are higher beings that exist in higher dimensions of consciousness, giving rise to an assurance that there is life beyond this physical dimension, and that life can exist in a higher, more spiritual way than earthly existence.

“Life as a School”

If a person were to attempt to derive some spiritual meaning from life, it could be likened unto a temporary school, occupied by one’s soul as it makes its way through eternity.  Life and its experiences become as instructors, teaching each soul to better understand the reality of life according to the soul’s evolvement to comprehend it on a conscious level. Herein is part of life’s mystery, that the soul learns consciously or unconsciously.

Everything that is experienced becomes part of the subconscious memory-levels of one’s mind, whether seen or unseen, whether of this physical world or other worlds.  A person may therefore be unaware that their soul is going through a learning process. The main consideration, however, is that learning is taking place and that it has effects on one’s soul.
