Secret Teachings of Christ, Part 2: There is both an outer and an inner—or secret—meaning to the teachings of Christ. The reason for that is this: Even though some people are awakened enough to comprehend the inner truths, other people—particularly those in the more materialistic, physically-oriented Western culture—are not. For them, the more abstract inner truths must be cloaked in symbolism. While they can readily accept the focus of outer teachings, such as teachings about the personage of Jesus, they are not open to the deeper inner teachings, such as the one that centers on the mind that was in Christ Jesus and is in everyone—the Christ Mind. These are the teachings that were given only to the disciples, who had reached a certain level of spiritual awakening enabling them to more readily comprehend the teachings.

In “Secret Teachings of Christ, Part 2,” Dr. Masters focuses partly on prayer. When it comes to prayer, the outward teaching—as commonly practiced—seems to be to petition God for what you think you want. But the inner—or secret—teaching is not that at all. The secret teaching is contained in the scripture, “When you pray, enter into your closet, shut the door, and pray to your Father which is in secret; and your Father, which sees in secret, shall reward you.” In other words, go within, shut off your outer senses, meditate, and establish union with the Presence of God within you. That experience of communion with God is real prayer. You do not need to seek the things of this earth by petitioning God for them through traditional outward prayer. As Jesus said, “Seek ye first the Kingdom of god, and all these things shall be added unto you.” Remember, God knows what you need before you ask, and knows what you need better than you do! And rest assured, when the time is right, and you are ready for it, God will fulfill that need.

A definition and explanation of universal synthesis can be found in Christ’s words, “The Father and I are One.” In this statement, he proclaimed that the presence of the Universe, both physical and spiritual, was One with his psyche or soul, and he with it.

Yet, the message he most wished to convey to the world was found in his words, “All of you are equal unto me, and even greater things than I you shall do.” With these words, Christ elevated all who would listen at that time, and all who would come in the centuries that followed, to a divine possibility.

That divine possibility is that anyone could do as he did; raise themselves to the level of consciousness he had achieved, and perhaps even do greater things in the future.

Jesus lived his life as the Christ, and what made Jesus the Christ was that he lived in a state of universal synthesis with God every day of his life.

Secret Teachings of Christ, Part 1: There is both an outer and an inner—or secret—meaning to the teachings of Christ. The reason for that is this: Even though some people are awakened enough to comprehend the inner truths, other people—particularly those in the more materialistic, physically-oriented Western culture—are not. For them, the more abstract inner truths must be cloaked in symbolism. While they can readily accept the focus of outer teachings, such as teachings about the personage of Jesus, they are not open to the deeper inner teachings, such as the one that centers on the mind that was in Christ Jesus and is in everyone—the Christ Mind. These are the teachings that were given only to the disciples, who had reached a certain level of spiritual awakening enabling them to more readily comprehend the teachings.

In this lecture, Dr. Masters focuses specifically on the Christ Mind, which is the point of contact between one’s human existence and God. Through meditation, one’s consciousness can open to Christ Mind awareness, and thus the influence and guidance of God.

Affirmations for “Secret Teachings of Christ, Part 1” by Dr. Paul Leon Masters:

Inner/Outer: I understand that there is an outer and inner teaching of Christ, and it is up to the spiritual awareness of each soul to choose which.
Outer: I understand that the outer teaching of Christ focuses more on human identification, or the personage of Jesus, and is thus more readily acceptable by the greater masses of people.
Inner: I understand that the inner teaching of Christ centers on the Christ Mind.

Christ Mind Influence: I understand that through the Christ part of my mind, God guides and directs me in all major concerns of my human life, including health, love, income, peace, fulfillment, lasting happiness, and eternal life.
Meditation: I understand that through my daily practice of meditation, my consciousness opens to Christ Mind awareness and, thus, the influence of God, who knows exactly what I have need of before I ask.
Choice: I understand that the choice is mine, to either stay with the outer teaching or pursue the inner Truth.
